Salmon Processing & Shipping

Ninilchik Charters highly recommends vacuum packing your fish to give it a much longer freezer shelf life. This method drastically cuts down on freezer burn and preserves the flavor of your hard earned catch.

We have commercial style vacuum packing equipment. We can take your fish right from the filleting table and have it vacuum packed in a matter of minutes. For your convenience, we have freezer space available and Federal Express service as well to help you get your fish home!

Our processing services are offered to our clients for a minimal fee and are part of our commitment to providing a full service fishing trip.

We hope you’ll enjoy our wild Alaska Salmon recipes using your fresh catch or the Salmon you take home this season!

Cedar Plank Salmon

1 Skinless Whole Side Fillet of Red Salmon or Silver Salmon (or King Salmon skinless cut fillets)

1-2 Tbsp Olive Oil

1-2 Tbsp Brown Sugar

Spices

1 Cedar plank

Any combination of seasoning salt, lemon pepper, cajun seasonings or herbs works well on this slow roasted cedar plank salmon. Start by soaking cedar plank for several hours. Place plank on preheated grill. Brush salmon with olive oil (or butter) on top and place on cedar plank. Sprinkle with spices and brown sugar as you like. Roast on a low-medium heat for approximately 15-20 minutes or until fish sizzles & flakes! Garnish with fresh orange or lemon slices.
