During the month of July and August we offer exciting silver salmon fishing out of the picturesque port of Seward, Alaska. This scenic town is about a two-hour drive from Anchorage and host to the annual Silver Salmon Derby, where anglers can fish and compete for cash and prizes. Additionally, the event allows for anglers to fish for a tagged fish worth up to $100,000! The Silver Salmon Derby is a popular event for both Alaskans and visitors to the state.
Silver salmon return to Resurrection Bay in late June to feed during the summer months before continuing on their spawning journey. During July and August, the silvers fatten up on baitfish in enormous schools throughout the waters of the bay. Landing a silver salmon can be very rewarding as they are some of the most spirited fish to catch and provide a lively and acrobatic fight. The waters around Seward are also teeming with wildlife and scenic with surprising vistas around each point. It makes for a very full day with fishing, wildlife viewing, and sightseeing all rolled into one delightful experience.
Anglers will venture out into the waters of Resurrection Bay in comfort aboard the 43′ Delta Marine vessel, M/V Arctic Endeavor. The Arctic Endeavor is equipped with a full galley, head, lounge and spacious deck for fishing.
